Description

Host, Vivian Kobusingye Birchall chatted with Dr. Wilfred Ngwa, an Assistant Professor, Radiation Oncology, Harvard Medical School, Brigham And Women’s Hospital and Director of the Global Health Catalyst at Harvard, about a plant from the justicia family that has been found to have higher hemoglobin than the human blood. He explained the research findings, possible applications, collaborations with other institutions including Dana Farber and the Smithsonian Institute, patents acquired, investment opportunities and giving back to the community in Cameroon where the plant was discovered, and where it is being grown in the United States. Dr Ngwa’s research is focused on clinical translation of technologies/approaches that can increase access to quality cancer treatment. This includes smart radiotherapy biomaterials (Tiny drones to Target cancer or nanoparticle drones) and PhytoMedicines. www.actontv.org
